Letter from the CNGE President (France)

For the first time in its history, Paris will welcome the annual congress of Wonca Europe and the French National College of Teachers in General Practice is proud to be hosting this great event.

The 2007 Wonca conference will offer a window into the French and European health systems of primary care and the chosen theme “Re-thinking primary care in the European Context - a new challenge for General Practice” will offer the opportunity to analyse the different orientations that prevail throughout Europe and overseas.

The scientific program, built with the three Wonca networks: European General Practice Research Workshop (EGPRN), European Academy of Teachers in General Practice (EURACT) and European Association of Quality in General Practice/Family Care (EQUIP) with high quality standards, will reflect the high quality standards diversity of primary care. Different health problems from preventive, curative to palliative care will be covered.

The 4,000 attendees will enjoy a unique experience of sharing and discussing their diagnostic steps and therapeutic strategies with their counterparts as well as with key players in the field of primary care such as scientific societies, universities, research networks, the pharmaceutical industry, public health institutions, etc.

Wonca Europe 2007, a source of inspiration from learning from each other and, let’s not forget, a chance to discover or re-discover Paris, the eternal, the romantic, the creative... Paris, city of lights!
